Most fire door defects are installation defects that nobody found for years. Clearances outside tolerance, the wrong seals, a closer that was never adjusted, packing behind a frame that should not be there.
A door installed correctly and tagged at handover starts its life with a record. One installed by whoever was on site that week starts with nothing.
Ask for the evidence of the door's rating, what it was installed as, and its tag, at the time it goes in. Reconstructing that later is expensive and sometimes impossible.
